Super excited about this recipe I found on food52 , I improved the recipe to my liking, and hopefully it is easier for you too!!
It’s a yummy, healthy nougat you can enjoy knowing it’s good for your tastebuds and your body!!
1 cup mixed Pistachio nuts (unsalted and shelled) and Almonds
1 cup Honey
2 Egg whites
Line a square or rectangular baking dish with baking paper
On a double boiler, melt the honey. While the honey is melting, beat the egg whites to a stiff peaks.
Add the egg whites to the honey, stir and the mixture should become caramel-coloured
For up to 45 minutes, stir the mixture gently (you do not have to stir continuously, just regularly), it should thicken and become pale and creamy
Add the nuts to the mixture and stir for another 30 minutes
Once thickened, pour into the baking dish place in a cool place to set for a few hours (refrigerating is quicker, but has a lesser result)
Once the nougat is set, slice and enjoy with 0% guilt!!!
